Artist Statement: Venus Reborn was inspired by both a vivid dream, and a life changing journey to Egypt and Italy earlier this year. It reflects a deep inner journey—a blissful union of light and self. Flowing inward, the viewer is invited to feel the sunlight within, and to come home to their truest self. As an artist, I love to create soulful works bridging heaven and earth, drawn from my personal journey of spiritual exploration and connection to the stars and stone.
Materials and process:
This piece was created using handmade paints I crafted from earth pigments, sacred waters, and crushed crystals that I have been collecting over many years of travel. These elements bring a natural, grounded and raw energy to my artwork.
Layer upon layer, the paint is applied and then sanded back, revealing textures and hidden depths—symbolic of a journey toward self-acceptance and remembrance. Enriched with gold leaf and earthy tones, reflecting a tangible light that empowered me to embrace all parts of myself.

Artist Statement: As an abstract expressionist I begin with an uninhibited, abstract underpainting, creating a space for imagery to “arrive”, revealing itself. The painting then becomes an evolving dialogue from the tangible world and from unseen realms. Each piece narrates its own story, through layers of meaning and interaction. I draw on my skill base to shape the emerging content in vibrancy and depth. This particular painting is part of my ongoing “oracles” series, destined to be shared a card deck and book.
Materials and process: Gallery grade canvas and sturdy wood stretchers. Acrylic and water based paints and inks. Lightfastness finishing preparation.

Artist Statement: This is a story of 2 black dogs that adopted me and take me to the beach everyday. Inspired by the local indigenous story of the black dogs of Fingal I seeked to represent the dogs, myself and the beach as all a part of each other. The simplicity of our life yet the vibrancy of the ever changing dancing environment. A celebration of vibrancy of simplicity. Simply a woman and her dogs/gods.
Materials and process: I started with acrylic and finished with oils and charcoal. There are many layers of colours to give it depth and a feeling of movement.
Finished with a satin varnish.
The ground is a hardwood 3 ply.

Artist Statement: I like to take an intuitive approach, putting paint on the canvas and seeing what unexpected roads it will take me down. I think this approach connects me to a deeper, more truthful reality than one based on cerebral thinking and dare I say it, Artist statements. This painting responds to the theme of myths, specifically the myth of the Celebrity Guru who has something to teach us. As seductive as this can be I believe all of our wisdom is won by the crucible of experience not listening to gurus.
Materials and process: Acrylic paint on stretched canvas.

Artist Statement: My painting, Nina, captures an indigenous warrior woman whose name means “fire” in Kichwa, symbolizing fierce, transformative energy. Fire reflects the warrior spirit, clearing the old to spark new beginnings. Her intense gaze channels resilience, an ancestral strength deeply connected to the land. Through rich tones and textures, she embodies the mythic role of guardian and protector, a timeless symbol of unity with nature, inspiring us to reclaim our strength and connection to the earth.
Materials and process: The creation of NINA involved a richly layered, multifaceted approach known as Mischtechnik, or mixed technique, which allowed for depth and texture to echo the themes of earth and spirit in the painting. Using acrylics as the foundational base, I built up layer upon layer of oil paint, creating a nuanced interplay of colour and form that enhances Armani’s embodiment of resilience and rootedness. Painted on an artist wood panel, the piece’s 50 x 60 cm dimensions in landscape format lend it a striking presence, expertly framed by Still@theCentre in a floated box frame, to complete this powerful work.

Artist Statement: Armani, an African indigenous warrior woman, is an extraordinary embodiment of earth and spirit. The way she merges with and emerges from the earth suggests her identity as both a guardian and a vessel of nature’s strength. Her form, seamlessly interwoven with rich, earthy tones and textures, calls to mind the mythic figure of the Earth Mother, a powerful archetype across cultures who both nourishes and fiercely protects her lands and people. This connection speaks of resilience and ancient myth.
Materials and process: The creation of Armani involved a richly layered, multifaceted approach known as Mischtechnik, or mixed technique, which allowed for depth and texture to echo the themes of earth and spirit in the painting. Using acrylics as the foundational base, I built up layer upon layer of oil paint, creating a nuanced interplay of colour and form that enhances Armani’s embodiment of resilience and rootedness. Through this piece, I aim to provoke reflection on the balance between self-esteem and humility, and the impact of narcissism on personal relationships

Renowned for her contemporary fauvist oil paintings, Tess uses palette knives and intensely saturated colours to create dynamic, textured layers. These bold, and contrasting elements powerfully convey the ever-present themes of introspection, grief, acceptance, and female empowerment throughout her work.
Materials and process: Tess begins her work with a very sudden and vivid image appearing in her mind.
She doesn’t from know where these images originate, but she knows she needs to paint them.
She then runs to her studio and feverishly grabs her palettes, her knives, and tubes of oil paint that will best represent what she is being shown inside her head.
To watch Tess paint is to witness the subconscious artistic expression in motion.

Artist Statement: In the quiet moments, my son is a figure of both myth and reality—his eyes, a reflection of ancient gods who once shaped the world, filled with curiosity and an insatiable hunger for knowledge. With the energy of a young hero, he embarks on each day with the relentless determination of a demi-god, unafraid to explore the unknown. There’s a quiet strength in his laughter, a trace of wisdom that seems beyond his years. Like the timeless heroes of old, he faces the challenges of life with grace, his spirit unbroken by the trials that come his way. His dreams are vivid, like the stories of gods and monsters — yet grounded in the here and now, as he carves his own path in the real world, a blend of legend and life in motion.
Materials and process: Oil on canvas.
