Artist Statement: The Narcissist” explores self-perception and vanity through chiaroscuro, highlighting the figure’s exaggerated features and dark, open mouth as symbols of an insatiable need for validation. This void represents how self-obsession often harms those around the individual.
Through this piece, I aim to provoke reflection on the balance between self-esteem and humility, and the impact of narcissism on personal relationships
Materials and process: Created using premium French oil paints and mediums on Italian cotton canvas. The carefully prepared ground enhances paint adherence and luminosity. The piece is gallery wrapped, offering a clean, modern presentation without a frame. These details enhance its quality, making it a valuable addition to any collection.
# Hestia Goddess of the Hearth

Artist Statement: Hestia is the goddess of the hearth, is from Greek mythology. I’ve always loved it and I loved how she was the least appreciated but was still one of the most important gods, being home and the glue that holds everything together.
Materials and process: I just used plain old acrylic paint.

Artist Statement: Mourning the loss of their mother Hilda , the sisters Vi and Winnie took watermelons with them to feed to the currawongs while they were doing their yoga. The birds in turn carried the girls’ love upstream where it was delivered as a memento to Hilda, who was crossing from this life to the next.

Artist Statement: Mullumbimby is a unique blend of cultural stories, healing spiritual practices, reflecting both its rich Indigenous history and its modern bohemian countercultural identity. Inspired by the stories of Star Seed beings and the mysterious Yokai lead to this painting of
bright moonlight shimmering on the old roofs of forgotten houses. Past beings live here, where every night the bushes would sparkle with the pin pricks of other souls coming together.
Materials and process: Acrylic paint on canvas.
This painting was inspired by stories of love, loss and remembered dreams. The towering cinnamon scented hills rise up behind this nightly scene as if protecting these souls, who some say are here to heal earth and humanity.

Artist Statement: I find drawing attention to the natural beauty of our surroundings is not only a way to celebrate the environment, but also a reminder for viewers to appreciate the small wonders in their everyday lives.
It is facinating how much of nature’s splendor can be overlooked amidst the hustle and bustle of daily routines. By translating these serene and often fleeting moments into my work, I hope to creat a bridge between the viewer and the beauty that surrounds them.
Materials and process: Wollumbin Sunrise from Crystal Creek was firstly blocked in in Attellier acrylics and then finished in Windsor and Newton oil paints. As I prefer a smooth surface for my work so it is on board which is surrounded by a Tasmanian Oak floating frame.

Artist Statement: My aim is to ignite the imagination by sharing the beauty of the sea and the untold stories of mermaids—symbols of innocence, exploration, freedom, and courage. The mermaid’s transformation and intricate dragon guides of the sea, with the golden dragon as my protector, symbolise the forces guiding me and keeping me on course.

Artist Statement: This is a story of 2 black dogs that adopted me and take me to the beach everyday. Inspired by the local indigenous story of the black dogs of Fingal I seeked to represent the dogs, myself and the beach as all a part of each other. The simplicity of our life yet the vibrancy of the ever changing dancing environment. A celebration of vibrancy of simplicity. Simply a woman and her dogs/gods.
Materials and process: I started with acrylic and finished with oils and charcoal. There are many layers of colours to give it depth and a feeling of movement.
Finished with a satin varnish.
The ground is a hardwood 3 ply.

Artist Statement: The connection between The First Nations People and their ancestral lands is a poignant reminder that the land holds stories that transcends time and physical presence ,even if they may no longer reside there, the Currumbin Rock Pools, serene at dusk and bathed in golden light, is a powerful metaphor for the lingering presence of their spirit.
