Photography & Digital Art judge – Vanessa Bertagnole

The Ocean Shores Art Expo has been running for 18 years since 2004,initially as the Ocean Shores Art & History Expo and then with its current name.

While the Expo has previously been held at the Ocean Shores school, because of ongoing Covid restrictions preventing events at the school, this year the Expo will be held at the Ocean Shores CountryClub.

This year there will be four judges covering the seven categories. One of the judges, Vanessa Bertagnole, is an award-winning photographer, artist, graphic designer and former arts administrator based in Brisbane.

Her photography work is mainly concerned with the elusiveness of memory. In abstracting digital forms, she wishes to blur the boundaries of photography. Her work has been shown at the Queensland Centre for Photography, Tweed Regional Gallery, National Museum of Australia and San Diego Institute of Art. She has been a finalist in national and international art prizes and her work is held in many private collections throughout the world.

Vanessa will judge the Photography and Digital Art categories.
