2018 Ocean Shores Art Expo Program
We warmly invite you to the 15th celebration of the arts, a three day cultural event in Ocean Shores.
The art exhibition features 313 adult artworks, all for sale, and a huge display of student works.
It opens from 10 am Friday 24th August at the Ocean Shores Public School hall, a great time to view and get in early to buy the artworks. The exhibition runs from 10am to 4pm from Friday to Sunday 26th August. Entry during the day is $2.
Doors open for the Friday 24th Awards Night at 7pm with the award ceremony at 8pm. The 15 prizes to be announced are valued all up at $5,500.
We have two exciting new art installations on the night, an interactive sound and light “Vivid” style production by Alex Moss & the display of a mural created by young artists in partnership with Byron Youth Service.
Music will be by Doni Raven & the Petes, catering is by senior hospitality students under the guidance of the experienced teachers from Mullumbimby High.
Exhibiting artists gain free entry, for others entry is $15.
Entry entitles you to a glass of wine. As alcohol is being served, the Department of Education policy states that it is to be an adults only event.
SATURDAY 25th is the Ocean Shores School “Festival of the Imagination” a very popular family event. While enjoying the fun, food and games, pop in to view the exhibition.
SUNDAY 26th PROGRAM
10am-12: Mat & Libby’s Polymer clay workshop. Create a colourful art work to take home.
1pm to 3pm Grand Finale performances by :
- Dangerously Poetic,
- the Mana Aloha Hula Troupe
- The Bowlo Choir &
- The Rebel Rebel Girls Choir
3.30 - The Viewers Choice Awards & Raffle prizes will be announced
Cart Café (Coffee with a conscience) will be on site selling coffee and food from mid-morning till close of day.
