#91 Morning Light Through the Gums

Artist: Ian Barker

Artist Statement:
The Australian bush and the light that permeates through it have always been something that I have loved. The ongoing desire, and challenge, to catch that light in a plein air setting have always been a goal for me. This work is a combination of time spent outside to capture the light and then continued in the studio to complete the work. Apart from the bush my inspirations come from the Heidelberg School and artists such as Herman Pekel and Joseph Zbukvic.
