Artist: Cindy Alice
My work revolves around the use of materials on hand – quite often from my collection which has been rescued from being discarded. This tendency leads me to the hand-crafting of paper, carving, weaving, knitting and assemblage.
During meetings, lectures and calls, I find knitting to be a therapeutic practice, helping me feel productive as well as honing my concentration.
Materials and process:
A mounded tube of knitted twine, 2500mm long x 320mm wide x 240mm deep, resting on a vintage timber coal box.
Needles remain in the work allowing for its’ evolving as well as potential unraveling – this being the celebration and freedom of choice afforded those of us fortunate enough to live in the free world.
Size: W460mm x 600H x 240D
