For the Love of Yoko

Artist: Corolyn Larke

1966, John Lennon fell in love with Yoko Ono on seeing her artwork titled ‘Yes’. At the top of a ladder hung a magnifying glass, when held to the roof, in small print was the word “Yes” on the ceiling. Lennon said “I climbed the ladder, looked through the spyglass and in tiny little letters it says ‘yes’. It was positive. I felt relieved. It’s a great relief when you get up the ladder and look through the glass, it doesn’t say ‘no’ or ‘f$%^ you’, it said ‘yes’.”
