Artist Statement: Gloria is a celebration of the simple pleasures of our natural environments. She represents a message of hope and joy in this ever changing and vibrant world.
Materials and Process:
The base shape is Strofoam block cut to shape with hot wire covered with concrete over fibreglass mesh. A variety of mosaic tiles and coloured glass panels were then fixed with waterproof adhesive and waterproof coloured grout. She is displayed on a fixed steel base attached to steel frame. This frame can either be placed securely onto grass or just standing alone on the frame.
She is totally weatherproof.
