As I approach my twilight years, I am happier for celebrations to go on without me. The hype, the expectation, the noise, the forced conversations, the fake laughter, drunk people; all leave me cold.
‘Cowgirls on Crown’ and ‘The Marriage Equality Circus’ are drawings that take a voyeuristic look at two queer celebrations – the aftermath of a Mardi Gras in Darlinghurst; and a circus-themed same sex marriage through the window of Bullarto Hall.
There’s got to be a morning after.
Crayons and pastels on paper.
