Artist Statement:
Ritual – Celebrating the sacred.
The priestess holding the flame of love.
Sapphire Rose Rochelle explores the sacred feminine and the natural world through painting, print making and ceramic sculpture.
Materials and Process:
Mischtechnik / oil on canvas / box framed.
Painting on canvas, I used a cartoon to start the process of a sculptural underpainting in oils, using glazes to add colour in layers.
