Artist Statement:
Sapphire Rose Rochelle explores the sacred feminine and the natural world through painting, print making and ceramic sculpture
Saffi, celebrating woman in all her diversity. Saffi is a young woman, of the Himba tribe of Northern Namibia.
Material and Process:
Painting on canvas, I used a cartoon to start the process of a sculptural underpainting in oils, using subtle glazes to add colour in layers.
