Artist Statement:
I have been painting for many years and have entered the Ocean Shores Art Expo over a long period.
My current work reflects the feeling of my new studio space. The joy I experience every time I enter, hence the “Hooray!” – I have arrived and am enjoying it immensely: the space, the light, the air.
I work mainly in acrylic and abstraction and have enhanced this work with the addition of Charcoal, Pastels and pens.
Materials and process:
I have used charcoal initially, then acrylic, then highlighted some aspects with pastels. I also emphazised the balloons with a fine art pen.
I used Nuart picture varnish, satin – acid free to seal the surface.
