Artist Statement:
From my home and art studio at Caniaba, I enjoy an abundance of birdlife. To me, they represent life at its most free. They sing and celebrate in all seasons, setting a perfect example of gratitude and thanksgiving. Birds are a joy to paint on either canvas or the reclaimed timber. It’s my hope that each artwork permeates it’s forever home with that same joy, along with the sense of celebration, thanksgiving and freedom.
Materials and process:
A sturdy handmade palate of locally sourced hardwood timber fence palings, using high-quality acrylic paints and sealed with a light matt varnish. It is ready to hang with ‘D’ loops, hanging wire and felt pads to protect the wall.
